Residents affected by waste suspected to originate from the SPPG in Mangiran, Trimurti, Srandakan, Bantul—Agus Indriyanto (55)—claim to have received a new borehole well. However, the water from this borehole remains cloudy, and he is reluctant to use it for consumption.

Observations by detikJogja revealed a long pipe installed on the north side of Agus’s house, leading to a hole that turned out to be the new borehole well promised by SPPG.

The borehole was reportedly constructed on Thursday (30/4), a day after officials from the Srandakan Sub-District Office conducted a surprise inspection regarding water contamination at his home. The borehole became operational just one day after completion.

“On that Thursday, people arrived to work on the borehole, but no one from SPPG showed up. Instead, personnel from the Srandakan Koramil came to monitor the construction,” he said when met at his residence in Trimurti, Srandakan, Bantul, on Saturday (2/5/2026).

However, the water from the borehole is still cloudy. Agus has not yet dared to use it for drinking.

“But the water from the borehole is still not good because it’s cloudy. I haven’t dared to use the borehole water for drinking yet, so I only use it for washing clothes and bathing—though even for bathing, I’m still worried,” he stated.

Regarding the continued cloudiness of the borehole water, Agus admitted he has not yet lodged a complaint. He is waiting until the deadline given by Bantul Regency to SPPG to resolve the issue.

“I’m staying quiet; I’ll wait until 8 May 2026,” he said.

For drinking and daily cooking water, Agus said he receives drinking water from SPPG, with two gallons provided per day.

“For drinking, SPPG still provides it—two gallons of refill water per day,” he added.

Previously reported, well water belonging to residents in Mangiran, Trimurti, Srandakan, Bantul, became foamy after being suspected of contamination from liquid waste from the Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG). Meanwhile, SPPG Trimurti claimed it would take responsibility and build a borehole well for the affected residents.

One resident whose well water became foamy, Agus Indriyanto (55), explained that it initially happened when he tried to fill a bucket with tap water at the beginning of April 2026. The tap water source came from the well.

“The water foamed and had an unpleasant smell at that time,” he told reporters in Srandakan, Bantul, on Thursday (30/4/2026).

Even now, the foamy water condition persists. Deeming the water unfit for consumption, Agus chose to buy clean water to meet daily needs.

“So for bathing, I go to my relative’s house about one kilometre away. For cooking and drinking, I buy gallon water every day,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of SPPG Trimurti, M Fauzan, stated that he had met with residents whose wells were contaminated. Fauzan claimed he would take responsibility for the incident.

“Certainly, we remain responsible, and we agreed to build a borehole well for residents whose wells are affected,” he said.
