Residents of Semanan Now Enjoy Clean Water from PAM JAYA's Portable Water Treatment Plant
Addressing this need, PAM JAYA has introduced a practical solution through the construction of the Semanan Portable Water Treatment Installation (IPA). The inauguration of this facility was attended by the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, as a show of support for efforts to improve basic services for Jakarta’s residents.
The Portable IPA is an initiative by PAM JAYA to enhance and provide maximum service to Semanan residents in fulfilling their daily needs for quality water, which was subsequently reviewed in detail by the PAM JAYA team.
The review results indicated that the residential area lacked supply from other networks, necessitating an additional water treatment installation to ensure sustainable availability of quality water.
Utilising two raw water sources, namely Anak Kali Semanan and Waduk Aseni, this portable IPA is expected to provide more decent water access for the community.
There are two units of portable IPA with a total capacity of 4 litres per second, consisting of 2 lps from the relocation of an existing portable IPA unit from Penjaringan and 2 lps from a new portable IPA unit to be built in 2025-2026, which is now inaugurated.
PAM JAYA’s President Director, Arief Nasrudin, stated on this occasion that the presence of this portable IPA is a form of PAM JAYA’s quick response to community needs.
“What we are doing today stems from the residents’ needs. This portable IPA serves as an adaptive solution to ensure the community continues to have access to decent water, especially in areas not optimally reached by existing networks,” he said in a written statement on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
Arief added that the produced water meets quality standards in accordance with Ministry of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023, making it safe for daily use. Moreover, this portable IPA also serves as a strategic solution in emergency or water crisis conditions.
With the existing capacity, this facility has the potential to serve around 295 household connections in RW 08, particularly RT 03 and RT 10. The presence of this facility is hoped to directly impact the improvement of community quality of life in terms of quality water.
Meanwhile, Jakarta’s Deputy Governor, Rano Karno, expressed his support for the steps taken by PAM JAYA. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government views this initiative as a quick and appropriate solution to meet basic community needs, while also serving as an example of the importance of collaboration in ensuring public services reach all residents equitably.
PAM JAYA reaffirms its commitment to continuously delivering adaptive, inclusive service innovations oriented towards community needs.
