Musi Banyuasin, VIVA – To commemorate the 80th Bhayangkara Day, the South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumsel) carried out the construction and inauguration of bore wells simultaneously via a virtual event led directly by South Sumatra Police Chief Irjen Sandi Nugroho.

In Musi Banyuasin Regency, the event was centred in Desa Pandan Dulang, Dusun Sempinding, Lawang Wetan Subdistrict, on Friday, 8 May 2026 morning.

The event was attended by Musi Banyuasin Police Chief AKBP Ruri Prastowo, principal officials of the Musi Banyuasin Police Resort, local government representatives, Basnaz Chairman Muhammad Jaya, the Head of Social Affairs Division, Lawang Wetan Subdistrict Head, Pandan Dulang Village Head, Deputy Chief of Babat Toman Police Sector Iptu Ramade representing the Babat Toman Military District Command in Musi Banyuasin Regency, as well as representatives from the community benefiting from the social assistance.

Musi Banyuasin Police Chief AKBP Ruri Prastowo, in his remarks, stated that the construction of this bore well represents the Indonesian National Police’s (Polri) concern for the community, particularly in assisting with the fulfilment of clean water needs for residents.

“Alhamdulillah, on this 80th Bhayangkara Day, we have completed the construction of seven bore wells scattered across Musi Banyuasin Regency. This activity was led directly virtually by South Sumatra Police Chief Irjen Sandi Nugroho,” he said.

He explained that the construction of these bore wells is a tangible manifestation of Polri’s presence among the people by addressing the community’s basic needs for clean water in their daily lives.

“Polri, together with relevant stakeholders, endeavours to assist the community through the construction of these bore wells. We hope that this facility can be utilised and maintained as best as possible,” he added.

The bore well inaugurated in Dusun Sempinding, Desa Pandan Dulang, Lawang Wetan Subdistrict, Musi Banyuasin Regency, is known to benefit approximately 40 households who have previously lacked access to clean water.

Local residents have welcomed the assistance positively and expressed their gratitude to Polda Sumsel and Polres Musi Banyuasin for their attention and concern towards the community’s needs.

With this social programme, it is hoped that the synergy between Polri and the community will become even stronger, bringing real benefits to the lives of people in Musi Banyuasin Regency.
