Residents of Malang Wave Red and White Flags to Welcome President Prabowo
Malang, East Java (ANTARA) - Residents of Malang Regency, East Java, welcomed the arrival of President Prabowo Subianto by waving the Red and White flag, as the President was set to attend a mass sugar cane harvest held in a field within the Abdulrachman Saleh Indonesian Air Force Base area on Friday. One resident, Irma, stated that she deliberately came with her child, Amelia, to greet the head of state in person. “I came to bring my child so we could greet the President directly, I brought the Red and White flag from home,” she said. Not only adults, but the arrival of President Prabowo also received a warm welcome from a number of students. They loudly chanted the head of state’s name. As the presidential car carrying President Prabowo passed by, Sakura immediately lifted and displayed a poster. “I brought this poster and showed it, and Mr Prabowo waved back. I came here straight from school, dropped off by my parents,” she said. ANTARA observed that residents had been crowding the area of Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base since around 1 p.m. local time, lining up along the pavement while waiting for the presidential entourage to arrive. President Prabowo Subianto, as is his custom, emerged from the sun roof of the white presidential car with the number plate RI 1 and greeted the rows of residents and students who had been waiting. Although it was only for a moment, the public appeared very enthusiastic in welcoming the head of state. The presidential motorcade and officials then headed directly to the mass sugar cane harvest site located within the Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base complex in Malang.
