Residents of Hutanabolon Receive Beef Assistance from North Sumatra Provincial Government

Tapanuli Tengah-North Sumatra (ANTARA) - Residents who survived the flash flood disaster in Tukka, Hutanabolon, South Tapanuli, have received one cow from the North Sumatra Provincial Government as assistance to be served during Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026.

The Imam of Al Huda Mosque in Hutanabolon, Abdul Samiun Sarumpaet, told ANTARA on Friday (20/3) that the cow, which was slaughtered communally, was distributed to 230 households around the Al Huda Mosque in Hutanabolon.

The slaughtering process proceeded smoothly without issues, and the residents worked together, so after Friday prayers, the meat was already distributed to the registered residents.

Each family received one bag containing 500 grams of meat, which they can then prepare according to their own preferences.

“Many in the community are happy with this assistance. In any case, in conditions like this, I think it wouldn’t cross our minds to celebrate extravagantly (cook luxuriously) like in previous years,” said Abdul Samiun Sarumpaet.

One resident named Putri Aulia (37), who received the aid, expressed her joy. She is pleased because for Eid, she can now serve beef to her family and relatives who visit her home.

“Alhamdulillah, I feel happy with this assistance, so tomorrow we can process it into rendang for the family during Eid al-Fitr,” she said.

Meanwhile, Nurmadina Tamunan (45) intends to prepare the beef aid she received in a simpler way. Nurmadina received meat with bones mixed in, so she plans to make it into soup.

“If made into soup, it doesn’t require too many spices, and cooking it isn’t too troublesome for us,” she explained.

Residents of Hutanabolon, South Tapanuli, North Sumatra, will perform Eid al-Fitr prayers at the Al Huda Mosque on Saturday (21/3).

This mosque serves as the gathering place for residents to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers in 2026, as it is the only one in the area. The Al Huda Mosque is currently undergoing renovations on the exterior and slightly on the interior.
