Tangerang, Banten – The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Tangerang City has urged residents living in flood-prone residential areas to relocate electronic goods to safe locations before undertaking the Eid holiday exodus journey.

“For safety, we advise that electronic items be stored in a safe place to prevent sudden flooding,” said Mahdiar, Head of the BPBD of Tangerang City, on Monday in Tangerang.

He stated that this advisory continues to be disseminated to the community as this week marks the start of the Eid exodus period, with its peak expected on 18 March 2026.

Tangerang, Mahdiar continued, falls within areas that have maintained extreme weather alert status. Furthermore, last week nine subdistricts were affected by flooding. For this reason, various early mitigation measures and preparations continue to be carried out, not only on the readiness of emergency personnel but also on the affected communities themselves.

Metro Tangerang City Police Chief Brigadier General Raden Muhammad Jauhari added that vigilance against potential natural disasters during the Eid holiday period remains the focus of officers.

“Officers are also instructed to remain alert to potential disruptions during the exodus, including natural disasters. This aligns with the National Police Chief’s directive emphasising the importance of preparedness against potential disasters, such as flooding and landslides, which are estimated to occur due to high rainfall according to BMKG forecasts,” said Police Chief Raden Muhammad Jauhari.
