Strong winds recently struck the Mekarjaya Village area in Cigudeg District, Bogor, West Java. A resident’s wall collapsed as a result of the strong winds.

“Light-intensity rain accompanied by strong winds occurred in the area, resulting in damage to the rear section of one house,” said M Adam Hamdani, Head of Emergency and Logistics at the Bogor Regency Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), on Monday (15/6/2026).

The incident took place on Sunday (14/6). Adam stated there were no fatalities or injuries in the event.

“There were zero casualties; one house was damaged, affecting two people,” he said.

Residents subsequently reported the incident to BPBD officers for handling. Based on analysis, the wall collapsed because it lacked proper ties, making it more vulnerable.

Adam said temporary measures were taken by covering the collapsed section with tarpaulin. He noted that further action is required.

“Further handling by relevant parties is needed, as there is concern that if strong winds occur again, the damage will worsen. Currently, the building debris has not been cleared, and the collapsed wall has been temporarily covered with tarpaulin,” he concluded.
