Residents hit by water shortage

BOGOR (JP): Residents of Galuga village in Cibungbulang district have been hit by a clean water shortage due to contamination of artesian wells by garbage dumps.

"We demand the administration take action on this matter as the water has turned dark and cannot be used for daily needs such as cooking or even bathing," Cicih, a 34-year-old housewife, said.

Karma Sukarma, the village chief, said residents would wait for the administration to deal with the garbage and waste problems.

"We hope to receive a clean water supply soon," Karma said. (21/edt)
