A resident of Jalan Sriwidari, Gunungpuyuh District, named Turangga, said he awoke when the earthquake struck. He and several boarding house occupants immediately ran outside.

“I was lying in bed when I suddenly felt the tremor. I immediately got up from the bed to go outside the door. Several people in the boarding house came out but not for long. Someone shouted about the earthquake,” Turangga told detikJabar on Friday (13 March 2026).
