Residents Delighted as Tabebuya Flowers Bloom Around JIS: Truly Beautiful

Tabebuya flowers around the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) area in North Jakarta are in full bloom. Residents have expressed delight at seeing the abundance of flowers in the area.

Based on observations at the location on Wednesday (26/8/2026), tabebuya trees along the pedestrian path leading to JIS appeared to be flowering. Pink, white, and purple blossoms adorned the pedestrian area.

Some flowers had already fallen. The tabebuya trees along the pavement have now become a photo spot for a number of residents.

Several children returning from school were also seen playing around the blooming tabebuya trees. A resident of Tanjung Priok, Iim, said she learned about the flowers blooming around JIS from TikTok.

“That’s right, I found out from TikTok. I pass by every day but never noticed. When I saw it on TikTok, I thought, ‘Where is this? Oh, right, it’s at JIS’,” said Iim.

She then made a point of coming today to take photos and videos of the tabebuya flowers around JIS. She said the area has become cooler and more beautiful when the flowers are in bloom.

“Wow, just wow. Truly beautiful. Because I am a lover of things like this,” she said.

She hopes for additional facilities for children to play in the JIS area. She also hopes for more trees around JIS.

“It’s safe for children to play. Even before this existed, I often brought my children here on Saturdays and Sundays. The main point is that it is safe for children and the space is open. I mean, it is spacious for playing. And it is cool, with these flowers and trees, it feels cool. Not barren,” she said.
