Complaints from visitors at Denggung Field, Sleman, regarding inconsistent parking fees have recently circulated on social media. The issue was highlighted by the X account @merapi_uncover, which noted a discrepancy between the rates displayed on information boards and the official tickets issued by parking attendants.

According to the post, the signage indicated a rate of Rp 3,000 for four-wheeled vehicles based on Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 2/2025, whereas the official ticket provided was for Rp 6,000 based on Perda No. 7/2023. The user questioned why outdated tickets were still in circulation if the regulation had been updated.

Upon being contacted, the Head of the Sleman Regency Transportation Agency, Heri Kuntadi, clarified that there was misinformation on the announcement boards. He explained that the rates vary depending on whether an event is being held at the recreational site.

Under Sleman Regional Regulation No. 2 of 2025 concerning Local Taxes and Retribution, parking fees for special locations are divided into two categories: non-event periods and event/incidental periods. For non-event periods at recreational sites, tourist attractions, and sports facilities, the fees are set at Rp 2,000 for two and three-wheeled vehicles, Rp 5,000 for four-wheeled vehicles, Rp 5,000 for six-wheeled vehicles, and Rp 10,000 for vehicles with more than six wheels. For market areas, parking buildings, and other designated lots, the rates are Rp 2,000 for two-wheelers, Rp 2,500 for three-wheelers, Rp 3,000 for four-wheelers, Rp 5,000 for six-wheelers, and Rp 10,000 for vehicles exceeding six wheels.

During events or incidental periods at recreational sites, tourist attractions, sports facilities, or market areas, the rates increase to Rp 3,000 for two and three-wheeled vehicles, Rp 6,000 for four or six-wheeled vehicles, and Rp 10,000 for vehicles with more than six wheels.

“We have double-checked and it appears there was a writing error on the information board. For four-wheeled vehicles, the rate is Rp 6,000 during events, and for sports facilities or recreational sites when there is no event, the rate is Rp 5,000,” Kuntadi explained.

He emphasised that this incident would serve as an evaluation for the Sleman Transportation Agency. He stated that the information boards would be updated in the near future to prevent further public confusion.
