Residents complain of distant office

BEKASI: Hundreds of job seekers in Bekasi complained on Tuesday over the remote location of the manpower agency office, which they said made it difficult for them to obtain the necessary forms to apply for government jobs.

"It takes hours just to wait for the public minivan that goes to Desa Sukamahi, where the city administration offices now are," said Wati, 20, who lives in Muaragembong regency, some 60 kilometers from the administration offices.

Andri, 20, who lives in Babelan, 70 kilometers from Desa Sukamahi, said it took three hours by public minivan to reach the manpower agency office.

The head of the manpower agency, Yoyok Sutoyo, said the office had provided a comfortable waiting room for job seekers coming to the office to apply for government jobs. -- Antara
