Residents Complain About Damaged Roads on Social Media, Majalengka Regency Targets Repair of 284 Road Points This Year
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAJALENGKA – The Majalengka Regency Government has reaffirmed its commitment to resolving road infrastructure problems gradually in the 2026 fiscal year. The issue of road damage had previously been widely complained about by residents on social media.
To carry out the road repairs, the Majalengka Regency Government has allocated a budget of Rp143 billion. This budget is intended for repairing 284 points of roads and bridges scattered throughout Majalengka Regency.
Majalengka Regent Eman Suherman stated that the repairs will be carried out in accordance with the available budget conditions. Therefore, the implementation cannot be done all at once.
“There are around 284 points of roads and bridges that will be repaired during this year. The process will be gradual, with a target completion by the end of the year,” said Eman on Friday (24/4/2026).
He emphasised that even though the local government is implementing budget efficiencies, the infrastructure sector remains the top priority. This is particularly for roads that are damaged and impact community activities.
“In the midst of efficiencies, we still prioritise developments that are most needed by the community. As regent, I certainly want the road conditions in Majalengka to improve,” he added.
