Residents Attend Palace Open House, Curious to See Prabowo and Receive Food Aid
A number of residents appeared enthusiastic about attending the open house event at the Palace in Jakarta. They came with various hopes, from exchanging greetings with the President to receiving food aid assistance.
One of them, Septi, a resident of Mangga Besar, claimed to have learned about the open house information from her surroundings. She said the news was obtained while performing tarawih prayers at Istiqlal Mosque.
“From friends at Istiqlal Mosque, during tarawih prayers,” said Septi, at the State Secretariat Gate, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (21/3/2026).
Septi admitted she was interested in coming because she wanted to exchange greetings while hoping to receive the food aid that was reported to be distributed during the open house.
“Yes, the info is there’s food aid. That’s why I’m here,” she said.
Something similar was expressed by Wanto, a resident of Cipinang, East Jakarta. He claimed to have known about the Palace open house tradition from television news every year.
“Because every year I get news from TV, private TV, that’s why I want to join,” he said.
Wanto hoped to meet directly with President Prabowo Subianto and his cabinet members. In addition, he also admitted to being interested in the food aid distribution.
“Of course I want to meet. The cabinet members too. Both, greetings and food aid,” he said.
He even mentioned his desire to experience the complete package in the series of events. “Everything’s a complete package, I want to see the officials too,” he added.
Wanto came alone since the morning to attend the event. He claimed to have been at the location since 09:00 WIB and was willing to wait until the event started.
“Alhamdulillah from 9 o’clock. I’m patient waiting,” he said.
