Residents around airport demand job opportunities

TANGERANG: Residents of Rawa Rengas subdistrict, Kosambi
district in Tangerang municipality, plan to stage a rally to
demand job opportunities for locals from Soekarno-Hatta
International Airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II.

"We are planning to stage a mass rally, to demand that the
company recruit locals to work at the airport," said head of the
subdistrict Aman on Wednesday.

He lambasted the airport administration, which borders the
village, for not giving any benefit to locals. Many residents had
applied for jobs but were rejected.

Tangerang mayor Ismet Iskandar said that his administration
would ask clarification from the company on the demands made by
