Residents Affected by Landslide in West Bandung Receive Sanitation Support and School Equipment
Residents affected by a landslide disaster in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, received assistance in the form of clean water sanitation facilities and school equipment on Friday, 6 March. The aid was distributed by BRI Insurance as part of disaster recovery efforts in the area.
BRI Insurance Chief Executive Officer Budi Legowo expressed deep sympathy and concern over the landslide disaster affecting the residents of Pasirlangu. He stated that the company understood the difficult conditions facing the community in the aftermath of the natural disaster. Consequently, meeting basic community needs such as access to clean water and supporting children’s education became the top priorities.
“Through assistance in the form of water distribution systems from water storage facilities to residents’ homes as well as school equipment for children, we hope this aid can help meet the community’s daily needs. Additionally, we also want to ensure that children can continue learning effectively,” said Budi.
Deputy Regent of West Bandung, Asep Ismail, appreciated the swift action and commitment demonstrated by BRI Insurance alongside other collaborating parties. He noted that the assistance was particularly meaningful for residents still working to recover in the aftermath of the landslide.
“This assistance not only addresses basic community needs, but also demonstrates that solidarity and mutual cooperation remain strong within our society,” said Asep Ismail.
Head of Pasirlangu Village, Nur Awaludin Lubis, also expressed gratitude to all parties that provided aid to residents struggling to access clean water and enable children’s educational activities.
“We hope this assistance can ease the burden on our community and serve as motivation for residents to continue rising and rebuilding their lives after the disaster,” said Nur Awaludin Lubis.
The distribution of this aid forms part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme conducted by BRI Insurance, guided by Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
