PAM JAYA has confirmed that maintenance work will be carried out at the Hutan Kota Water Treatment Plant (IPA), managed by PT Jakarta Utilitas Propertindo (JUP). The work is scheduled to take place from Friday, 17 July 2026 to Wednesday, 22 July 2026, as part of efforts to maintain the reliability of water supply to the public. During the maintenance period, the water supply channelled from the Hutan Kota IPA to PAM JAYA’s distribution network will undergo adjustments. This may result in reduced water pressure or even temporary supply interruptions for approximately 55,272 customers in the areas of West Cengkareng, East Cengkareng, Kapuk Muara, Kamal Muara, Kamal, Pegadungan, and Tegal Alur. PAM JAYA’s Director of Operations, Syahrul Hasan, stated that the maintenance work is a necessary step to ensure the long-term reliability of the drinking water supply system. ‘Installation maintenance is an important part of ensuring service quality and continuity for customers. We understand the inconvenience this may cause. Therefore, we urge customers to prepare adequate water reserves, while PAM JAYA has also prepared various anticipatory measures to ensure the community’s water needs can still be met,’ he said in a written statement on Tuesday (14/7/2026). This maintenance is part of the commitment to ensure the water treatment installation remains optimally operational, safe, and capable of producing drinking water that meets the quality standards of Health Minister Regulation Number 2 of 2023. ‘As a form of service to customers, PAM JAYA has prepared free clean water distribution assistance via tanker trucks for household customers and emergency needs at public service facilities such as hospitals, places of worship, and social foundations. Customers in need of assistance can contact the PAM JAYA Call Centre at 1500 223,’ he explained. PAM JAYA urges customers in the affected areas to store water as a reserve before the work begins and to use water wisely during the maintenance period. The water supply is expected to gradually return to normal starting Thursday, 23 July 2026. ‘PAM JAYA apologises for the inconvenience caused and thanks customers for their understanding and support during the maintenance process. Through this work, it is hoped that the reliability of drinking water services to the community can be better maintained in the future,’ he said. Meanwhile, President Director of PT Jakarta Utilitas Propertindo (JUP), Etty Susilowati, said the work could potentially cause service disruptions. However, it is part of the maintenance efforts. ‘We understand there is potential for temporary service disruption during the work process. However, this activity has been carefully planned and coordinated with PAM JAYA and PT Jakpro Memiontec Air, taking into account technical aspects, safety, and the public interest,’ concluded Etty Susilowati.
