Residents' account of gridlock on Jl Raya Bogor towards Jl Akses UI, Depok, this morning

Traffic congestion occurred on Jalan Raya Bogor in the direction of Jalan Akses UI, Depok, this morning as vehicle volume rose. Detikcom’s observations at 08:30 WIB on Wednesday, 4 March 2026, showed congestion from Jalan Raya Bogor toward Jalan Akses UI, with further gridlock starting from Jalan Kol Pranoto. Police placed traffic cones from Jalan Kol Pranoto toward Jalan Akses UI, and traffic from Jalan Kol Pranoto was diverted due to the slowdown. Congestion was also visible near Mako Brimob, Kelapa Dua, with officers on site to regulate traffic.

Sat Lantas Polres Metro Depok Kompol Joko Sembodo said the gridlock resulted from heavy vehicle volume; officers were present and the queues began to ease. “Iya karena semuanya berbarengan di satu waktu, tapi petugas sudah pengaturan alhamdulillah bisa terurai,” Kompol Joko Sembodo told reporters on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.

One worker, Astrid (26), said congestion stretched from Jalan Kol Pranoto to Jalan Akses UI, along Jalan Akses UI toward Pasar Palsigunung. “Usually you can turn right from Jalan Kol Pranoto to Akses UI, but I’ve waited a long time; it’s been stuck there. Then you aren’t allowed to turn right directly, so I had to turn left first. Eventually I turned left, and the congestion along the road seems to reach Pal deh,” she told detikcom. She also said congestion occurred on Jalan Menpor Palsigunung, caused by high traffic.

“Then I turned toward Pura; the congestion near Brimob is persistent. It’s really congested only up to the Patung Kuda (Brimob) petrol station. Beyond that it’s clear. Nothing happened; nothing fell or stopped randomly, and it wasn’t raining,” she explained.

However Astrid said the congestion increased her travel time from initially 20 minutes to around 1 hour to reach Universitas Indonesia. She said at 07:35 WIB in Belimbing she arrived at UI at 08:20. “So annoying, every morning it gets me late,” she concluded.
