Residential Burglary in Gunung Putri, Bogor: 50 Grams of Precious Metals Stolen
Video footage of a home burglary in Cicadas Village, Gunung Putri District, Bogor Regency, West Java, has been circulating on social media. The perpetrator appears to be a single individual.
According to the video viewed on Monday, 9 March 2026, the theft occurred at approximately 09:00 WIB in the morning. The offender broke into the residence whilst the occupants were away.
At the time of the incident, the household assistant was collecting a child from school. The burglary was discovered when the assistant returned home and found the front door open with signs of forced entry.
It is reported that the perpetrator successfully stole 50 grams of precious metal from the house. The assistant subsequently informed the homeowner of the incident.
The perpetrator was captured on camera acting alone whilst wearing a helmet. He appeared to be rummaging through cabinets and removing items from within them.
When contacted for comment, Gunung Putri Police Station Commander Kompol Aulia Robby stated that the victim had not yet reported the incident to police. However, Gunung Putri Police Station indicated it would conduct an investigation.
“The victim has not yet filed a report at the police station, but yes, we will investigate,” said Robby.
Robby instructed his officers to guide the victim in filing an official police report and requested that criminal investigators inspect the crime scene.
“I have just instructed the community liaison officer to guide them through filing a report, and I have also directed the criminal investigation unit to examine the crime scene,” he concluded.
