Resident Evil Requiem Surpasses 5 Million Units
Osaka, Japan—(ANTARA/Business Wire)—Capcom Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:9697) today announced that worldwide sales of Resident Evil Requiem, released on 27 February 2026, have surpassed 5 million units.
Resident Evil Requiem is the latest instalment in the Resident Evil series, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this month. The title succeeds in elevating the essence of survival horror by enhancing the interplay between intensely frightening moments and exhilarating action. Resident Evil Requiem was developed using RE ENGINE, Capcom’s in-house game engine. With this engine, the company is able to deliver visuals with photorealistic detail, including character skin, glistening eyes, and flowing hair, as well as light transparency. In addition, the title provides a new gaming experience for its broad fan base through a range of difficulty settings to suit everyone from beginners to experienced players, and allows players to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives in real time to tailor each player’s playstyle.
Before its release, the game also earned significant praise from fans worldwide, including at Gamescom 2025, Europe’s largest video game trade fair held in August last year, where it won four awards, such as Most Epic, awarded to the game delivering the most stunning and awe-inspiring experience.
