Reshuffling 1,585 Staff Members, Purbaya Warns of Dangers of Fiscal Management Failure

Jakarta – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has conducted a reshuffle and inaugurated 1,585 employees, including 44 senior officials at Echelon II level, within the Ministry of Finance.

He emphasised that the inauguration represents more than routine administrative activity and constitutes a state decision aimed at improving fiscal management within the Ministry of Finance.

“It is clear that my position is not merely a bureaucratic role, but determines the nation’s fiscal position. Because if fiscal management is strong and the economy is stable, infrastructure development and public welfare will increase,” Purbaya said at the Ministry of Finance in Jakarta on Monday, 10 March 2026.

However, if the Ministry of Finance fails to manage fiscal matters, Purbaya warned that the losses would affect all Indonesian people and could impact the nation’s overall condition.

Therefore, Purbaya emphasised the importance of strengthening fiscal resilience and management to provide benefits for the government and the public.

“If we fail to maintain fiscal health, it is not only the ministry that suffers, but also the people. If fiscal management is mishandled, the Republic of Indonesia could face disruption,” Purbaya stated.

Purbaya expressed hope that the reshuffle and inauguration of Finance Ministry employees and officials would make each individual aware of their responsibility to perform their duties seriously as a fundamental pillar of national integrity.

“Because the Finance Ministry is a fundamental pillar of the state. So if you are careless, it will not only affect your own environment, but could even threaten the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia,” Purbaya said.

“I hope that in the future you will truly understand your responsibilities and the consequences if you are not careful in your work,” he added.

Through Finance Ministry Decision Number 67 of 2026 Concerning Confirmation in Position at the National Single Window Institution, Purbaya appointed the 44 newly inaugurated Echelon II officials to various agencies under the Finance Ministry, including the Secretariat General, the Directorate General of State Assets, the Directorate General of Financing and Risk Management, the Financial Technology, Information and Intelligence Agency, and the Financial Education and Training Agency.
