Reshuffle planned at KAI

JAKARTA: An independent team set up by the government to carry
out a fit and proper test on candidates for the new board of
directors of state-owned PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has
shortlisted them from 64 to 24.

Speaking at a media conference on Monday, the team's deputy
chief Ferdinand said the team was hoping to finalize the process
by the end of the month.

The team, comprised of interdepartmental officials and
representatives of the public, was established to ensure
transparency in the selection process.

Following the tragic train collisions in Central Java late
last year that left tens of people dead, the company's board of
directors all resigned. --JP
