The market for asset tokenisation, or Real World Assets (RWA), in Indonesia is projected to reach 88 billion US dollars by 2030, driven by the increasing adoption of blockchain technology in the financial sector. This growth is also boosting domestic investor interest in global assets, including tokenised US stocks.

According to research by Tiger Research, Indonesia’s asset tokenisation market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 31.7 percent until 2030. This expansion is supported by a strengthening digital ecosystem deemed capable of accelerating the adoption of blockchain-based assets.

Tiger Research also noted that Indonesian investors are increasingly interested in Tokenized US Stocks because they provide easier access to invest in global companies through blockchain technology.

Bittime Chief Operating Officer Ryan Lymn said this trend shows Indonesian investors are becoming more open to diversifying their portfolios into global assets. “Tokenisation opens easier access for Indonesian investors to gain exposure to global companies. We see interest in these assets continuing to rise as the digital asset ecosystem develops,” Ryan said on Tuesday.

As investor interest grows, the range of assets available on tokenisation platforms is considered a key factor influencing investment decisions. Based on Tiger Research analysis and industry benchmarking conducted by Bittime, platforms with a more diverse selection of Tokenized US Stocks are better able to meet the needs of investors looking to build a global portfolio.

Bittime stated it offers tokenised shares of several global companies such as NVIDIA, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Tesla, as well as a number of technology-based ETFs. The company also introduced a Flexible Staking feature for Tokenized US Stocks with yields of up to 7 percent APR.

Ryan said the feature was developed to adapt to the characteristics of US stocks, which generally have lower dividend yields compared to Indonesian stocks. “We want to deliver a more relevant investment experience through access to global assets accompanied by value-added features tailored to the needs of Indonesian investors,” Ryan said.

According to internal company data, holdings of Tokenized US Stocks increased by 106 percent within 48 hours of the launch of the Flexible Earn feature. Around 96 percent of new funds flowed into tokenised stocks with an artificial intelligence (AI) theme, particularly NVIDIA, Meta, and Microsoft, while nearly 50 percent of Tokenized US Stocks holdings were placed in the Earn feature.

The five Tokenized US Stocks with the largest holdings last week included SpaceX (SPCXX), NVIDIA (NVDAX), Tesla (TSLAX), MicroStrategy (MSTRX), and Apple (AAPLX).

Ryan assessed that the growth projections for the asset tokenisation market indicate that opportunities for developing global investments in Indonesia will become even greater. “The growing potential of the asset tokenisation market shows that Indonesian investors will have more choices to access global assets. We see Tokenized US Stocks as one of the segments with the potential to grow alongside the increasing need for investment diversification and stronger regulatory support,” Ryan said.
