Research on Political Communication Strategies and Voter Attention Receives Academic Appreciation
Dr Oktasari Sabil has successfully completed her doctoral studies in Management at Management and Science University (MSU) Malaysia. Her academic achievement has garnered significant attention due to her research focus, which examines the Gerindra Party’s strategies for building voter attention and support ahead of elections.
Her dissertation, titled “Influence of Public Service Determinants on the Political Communication Strategies of the Gerindra Party in East Jakarta: Mediating Role of Voter Attention to Elections,” analyses how public service factors influence the party’s political communication strategies, with voter attention serving as a mediating variable. The research highlights the importance of public services, social approaches, and party communication strategies in enhancing community engagement within the democratic process.
In addition to her doctoral dissertation, Oktasari has published a paper in a reputable international Scopus Q1 journal titled “Unpacking Political Communication in the Gerindra Party: The Roles of Economic and Social Support Through SMART-PLS Analysis.” This journal explores Gerindra’s politics through the lens of economic and social support using SMART-PLS analysis methods. The study is considered highly relevant for understanding modern political dynamics, particularly in building relationships between political parties and the public through approaches based on social needs.
Following her academic achievement, Oktasari received an academic grade of A–B+ from the international examination team at MSU Malaysia. In her statement, Oktasari expressed her hope that this research would contribute to the development of political communication, organisational governance, and the improvement of democratic quality in Indonesia. “It is my hope that this knowledge and research can provide real benefits for the development of more effective political communication that impacts society,” she said.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Oktasari is the CEO of Indonesia Raya Academy and the Chairperson of Emud (Emak Muda) Relawan Prabowo. She is actively involved in various human resource development programmes, leadership education, and the empowerment of women and the younger generation. Her success in obtaining a doctorate from an international university is expected to inspire the Indonesian youth to continue improving the quality of education, research, and contributions to national development through innovative academic and leadership approaches.
