Resbob Sentenced to 2.5 Years in Prison, Wishes Happiness to Judge for Seven Generations

The panel of judges at the Bandung District Court in West Java sentenced Adimas Firdaus Putra Nasihan, a YouTuber known by the alias Resbob, to two years and six months in prison. Resbob was found guilty and convincingly so in the case of insulting the Sundanese ethnic group. “Having adjudicated, it is hereby imposed on the defendant a prison sentence of two years and six months,” said the Chief Judge of the Bandung District Court, Adeng Abdul Kohar, when reading out the verdict on Wednesday (29/4), quoted from detikJabar. Resbob was declared guilty of violating Article 243 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 243 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2026 on Penal Adjustment. “It is ordered that the defendant’s detention period be deducted after serving the sentence and that the defendant remain in custody,” the judge stated. The verdict read by the judge matches the prosecutor’s demand, which also sought a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence for Resbob. Regarding the judge’s decision, in that hearing the public prosecutor stated acceptance of the verdict, while Resbob decided to think it over. Resbob’s Response Lately, after the hearing, Resbob also expressed his grievances to reporters. He prayed that the judges who handed down the decision would be granted happiness for seven generations. “The judges have carried out their duty as God’s representatives on earth. Hopefully, the verdict against me comes from their conscience and not from outside it,” he said. “I pray to the judges that with this verdict, it can bring happiness to the judges for seven generations.
