Bekasi – Rizki Prastya, coordinator of the team overseeing the free motorcycle homecoming programme (Motis) at Bekasi Station, has outlined the registration requirements for prospective mudik participants. The first step is to collect a queue number at the registration site, after which applicants are called one by one and directed to the admin desk, Rizki told Kompas.com on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.

After being called, applicants must submit several documents as registration requirements. They must bring their SIM, KTP, STNK, KK, and photos of their motorcycle from four sides: front, rear, left, and right. And most importantly, they are not allowed to bring an electric motorcycle, Rizki said.

“Because on the cargo carriage, the fuel cannot be full; there is a fear of a fire aboard,” he added. “The fuel draining is a standard operating procedure to ensure safety during transportation. Therefore, before being loaded into the train, the motorcycles’ petrol or fuel is siphoned off and emptied,” Rizki explained.

“Motorcycles and the passengers taking part in the programme will be dispatched on the same train formation. The motorcycles and passengers travel in one sequence,” he said.

According to him, the process of collecting the vehicles at the destination is relatively quick. Participants only need to wait for unloading, which takes around one to two hours at most, after which they can take their motorcycles,” he said.

“The government provides facilities in the form of free motorcycle shipping and passenger transport to reduce road accidents during the Lebaran mudik period,” Rizki concluded.
