Republika Unveils Aiman and Aisha, Quranic Moral Architecture-Based Islamic AI
At the Grand Launching Aiman Aisha at the National Library of Indonesia, Jakarta, on Wednesday 4 March 2026, Republika officially unveiled an Islamic artificial intelligence platform named Aiman and Aisha. Under the theme ‘When Faith Meets Technology: Designing AI with Moral Architecture’, the ceremony marked a new milestone in efforts to safeguard the digital sovereignty of the umat by delivering technology that is not only advanced but also morally structured. The innovative platform is supported by BytePlus as a strategic technology partner. Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital, Nezar Patria, delivered a briefing at the event. Editor-in-Chief of Republika Andi Muhyiddin also spoke, as did Rangga Danu Prasetyo, Director of Republika; Kamaruddin Amin, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Religion; Izzul Muslimin, Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah; and Ahmad Imam Mujadid Rais, Head of Lazismu, among others. Ayu Purwarianti, head of the ITB Artificial Intelligence Centre and AI researcher, presented remarks on the occasion. Participants conducted demonstrations testing the Aiman Aisha platform. A signing of a cooperation agreement involving Lazismu and Republika was conducted during the event. The collaboration aims to advance the use of AI in Islamic contexts and strengthen the digital-societal interface of Indonesian institutions. BytePlus Indonesia’s Head of Partner Management, Mochamad Galih, and other representatives were present. The gathering underscored the diverse coalition behind Aiman and Aisha, spanning government, academia, religious organisations and industry.
