Republika Hosts Islamic Finance Dialogue 2026, Discusses Strengthening Sustainable Halal Ecosystem
Republika once again held the Islamic Finance Dialogue (IFD) 2026 as part of the Indonesia Sharia Forum 2026 series. Carrying the theme ‘Halal Beyond Label: Building Trust, Integrity, and a Sustainable Lifestyle Ecosystem’, this forum served as a discussion space for the government, industry players, regulators, and academics to address strengthening Indonesia’s halal ecosystem to be more inclusive, trustworthy, and sustainable.
The Islamic Finance Dialogue is one of the main agendas leading up to the peak of the Republika Sharia Awards 2026, Republika’s annual appreciation event for industry players and figures contributing to the development of the national sharia economy. Through the Indonesia Sharia Forum, Republika hopes to encourage the birth of ideas, collaboration, and innovation that strengthen Indonesia’s position as one of the world’s sharia economic centres.
The forum, which took place on Wednesday (1/7/2026) at Soehanna Hall, The Energy Building, SCBD, Jakarta, raised the issue that the concept of halal is no longer interpreted merely as administrative compliance or the presence of a halal logo on a product. At the global level, halal has evolved into a lifestyle ecosystem that prioritises integrity, transparency, good governance, and sustainability throughout the entire value chain, including the financial system that supports it.
Therefore, the Islamic Finance Dialogue 2026 discussed how universal halal values can be integrated with the strengthening of the sharia finance industry. The synergy between the halal sector and sharia finance is considered an important foundation in building an economic ecosystem that not only grows commercially but is also capable of delivering trust, sustainability, and benefit for society.
“This theme invites us to see halal as an essential value that goes beyond formal certification. Halal must become the foundation of integrity, trust, and sustainability in Indonesia’s sharia economic ecosystem,” said Republika Director, Rangga Danu.
The keynote session featured the Expert Staff to the Minister for Digital Transformation and Tourism Innovation at the Ministry of Tourism, Masruroh, and the Deputy for Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Riza Damanik.
