Reports to Police: Jusuf Kalla Says Rismon Sianipar's Actions Insult Me

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Former Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) visited the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026). JK’s visit was to file a direct report against Rismon Sianipar, a digital researcher. JK reported Rismon regarding allegations of defamation related to funding worth billions of rupiah (Rp) for Roy Suryo and his associates, who have been questioning the diploma of former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). JK felt insulted by Rismon’s accusations. “I came (to Bareskrim) to make a police report. My report is against Rismon Sianipar for his actions that I consider harmful to me, because (Rismon) said that I funded Roy Suryo and his associates regarding Mr Jokowi’s diploma,” said JK at Bareskrim Polri, Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/4/2026). JK emphasised that Rismon’s accusations were unethical and undermined his dignity. Moreover, the accusations had already spread to the public. “Because this (accusation) has spread widely, and for me, this is an insult. It is very unethical for me,” said JK. He stated that Jokowi is a former president who, during his first term in government from 2014-2019, placed JK as vice president. Therefore, according to JK, Rismon’s accusations are completely unacceptable. “I was with Mr Jokowi in the government for five years. How could I pay people five billion to investigate his (Jokowi’s) diploma? It is inappropriate, and I would never do it,” JK asserted firmly.
