Reporting to Prabowo, Bahlil Says Indonesia to Receive Oil Supply from Russia
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, reported to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, that Indonesia is receiving an oil supply from Russia. This was conveyed by Bahlil during a limited meeting with Prabowo at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Thursday, 16 April 2026. It is known that Bahlil previously met with Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev on Tuesday, 14 April 2026, as a follow-up to Prabowo’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin one day earlier. “Alhamdulillah, yesterday following the President’s instructions, I met with the Minister of ESDM and the special envoy from President Putin, and the news is quite encouraging that we will receive crude supplies from Russia,” said Bahlil to journalists at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta. Not only that, Bahlil also revealed that the Russian side is ready to build infrastructure in Indonesia to increase energy resilience. “From the Russian side, they are ready to build several important infrastructures to enhance our national reserves and energy resilience,” he explained. Furthermore, Bahlil revealed that his side also conducted communication regarding Indonesia’s LPG supply from Russia. According to Bahlil, Indonesia imports 7 million tons of LPG every year. “And now we are carrying out diversification, and insyaallah we will also receive support, but this still requires effort, still needs two or three stages of communication, but for the crude, I think it’s almost final,” Bahlil concluded.
