Reporting SPT Using Unofficial Coretax Services: Beware of Re-Examination by Tax Authorities

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Directorate General of Taxes has once again reminded the public not to use the services of unofficial helpers in reporting annual tax returns (SPT) within the Coretax system. The use of unofficial third parties is considered high-risk and can lead to re-examination by tax authorities.

Director of Outreach, Services, and Public Relations, Inge Diana Rismawati, explained that risks include inaccuracies in reporting, such as incorrect data entry or falsely declaring “nil,” which could result in examinations or corrections later on, as well as the potential misuse of data for other purposes, including fraud risks.

“It must be understood that the responsibility for the contents of the SPT remains with the taxpayer, not with the assisting party,” said Inge to CNBC Indonesia, quoted on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

She explained that the obligation to report SPT is a personal responsibility of the taxpayer in the self-assessment system. Therefore, SPT filling should be done independently or with guidance from official parties such as tax educators or registered consultants.

According to her, independent reporting is far safer and ensures that the submitted data matches the actual conditions.

“To that end, we have provided various assistance channels, such as Kring Pajak 1500200, assistance services at Tax Service Offices (KPP) and tax corners, live chat, official social media, as well as educational channels like the DJP YouTube,” she said.

Inge also warned that the use of unofficial services is highly prone to causing various serious risks. Among them is the potential misuse of personal data because taxpayers must hand over sensitive information such as NIK, NPWP, and passwords.

“Therefore, we invite the public to utilise the official channels that have been provided. Independent SPT reporting is essentially easy, safe, and more guaranteed, while also protecting taxpayers from unnecessary risks,” she stressed.
