Report: UAE Secretly Joins Attack on Iran
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEHERAN – The United Arab Emirates has secretly launched a military attack against Iran. This is according to a report by The Wall Street Journal, which reveals Abu Dhabi’s role as an active participant in the Israel-US war that has engulfed the region. Sources familiar with the matter told the newspaper that Emirati forces targeted the Iranian oil refinery on Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf in early April. The UAE has not publicly acknowledged the operation. The strike reportedly triggered a large fire and disabled much of the facility’s capacity for months. This report signifies a major escalation by Abu Dhabi at a time when US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire following a five-week air campaign. According to the report, Iran described the incident as an enemy attack and responded with a barrage of missile and drone strikes against the UAE and Kuwait.
