Istanbul (ANTARA) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Senator Lindsey Graham, who has passed away, secretly conspired to discredit the International Criminal Court (ICC) ahead of the 2024 US general election, according to a report by The New York Times on Wednesday (29/7).

Recordings obtained by British director Alex Holder revealed that Netanyahu requested a bipartisan US letter from the Republican and Democratic parties to protest the ICC arrest warrant against him.

The leader of the Israeli Zionist regime suggested that they exploit the allegations of sexual harassment against ICC prosecutor Karim Khan to “taint” the institution.

Earlier, on Friday (24/7), ICC member states agreed to remove Karim Khan from his position over the sexual harassment allegations. Khan has consistently denied the accusations.

“We got them both,” Graham told Netanyahu.

Graham then asked Netanyahu to personally thank the Democratic senator and to convey a commitment to normalising relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia as an incentive for them to continue supporting him.

As a result, the bipartisan letter released on 1 November 2024 raised the sexual harassment allegations against Karim Khan and accused the ICC of failing to comply with the law by cancelling a meeting with Israeli officials before filing the arrest warrant.

In the same month, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former defence official of the Zionist regime, Yoav Gallant, over alleged war crimes in the Gaza Strip, which have resulted in more than 73,000 deaths.
