Replacement Constitutional Court Judge for Anwar Usman to Be Sworn In Before Prabowo This Afternoon
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The replacement judge for the Constitutional Court (MK) for Anwar Usman will take the oath before President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace, Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, on Friday (10/4/2026).
Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correctional Services, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, stated that Prabowo will also witness the oath-taking of nine members of the Republic of Indonesia Ombudsman and appoint several new ambassadors at the same event.
“Today we were invited to the Palace to attend the inauguration of the Constitutional Court Judge, as well as the members of the Republic of Indonesia Ombudsman and the appointment of several new Ambassadors,” said Yusril at the Presidential Palace Complex on Friday.
“So these three points are mentioned in the invitation for this afternoon, and the event will take place at 13.30. That’s why we have started arriving at the State Palace this afternoon,” he added.
As of 13.00 WIB, several guests dressed neatly had indeed begun arriving at the Palace.
The Constitutional Court judge who has entered retirement, Anwar Usman, was also seen present wearing a black suit and a blue tie.
Previously, this week’s inauguration event had been announced by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi.
“(The oath-taking) is planned as soon as possible this week,” said Prasetyo Hadi at the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
Prasetyo conveyed that the palace had received the name of the candidate replacement Constitutional Court judge from the Supreme Court (MA).
Nevertheless, he did not wish to announce the name of the candidate judge yet.
“We have (received it). It will be announced later,” he added.
