Repeat Offender Steals North Lombok Regency Government Service Motorcycle While It Was Being Repaired

A repeat offender with the initials IKA, from Jagarage Village, Kuripan District, West Lombok Regency, is in trouble with the law again. The 21-year-old man stole a service motorcycle belonging to the North Lombok Regency Government in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) while it was being repaired.

The Head of Criminal Investigation at the North Lombok Police, First Inspector I Komang Wilandra, said the motorcycle with registration number DR 2802 GU was reported missing on Friday (28/8/2026).

“As soon as we received the report, we immediately launched an investigation. In less than 24 hours, we managed to apprehend the perpetrator,” Komang said on Saturday (29/8/2026).

The official vehicle went missing at a house in Karang Kates Hamlet, Gondang Village, Gangga District, North Lombok Regency. Previously, the motorcycle was at the North Lombok Food Security, Agriculture and Fisheries Office (DKP3).

The motorcycle was going to be repaired because it had suffered damage and could not be used for long-distance travel. The user of the official vehicle then asked a resident for help to repair it.

“The motorcycle was then taken to be repaired. However, on Friday afternoon, the user received information that the vehicle had gone missing,” he said.

Police found the motorcycle at a car wash in Gondang Village, Gangga District, North Lombok. Following further investigation, officers apprehended the perpetrator.

He said the perpetrator is a repeat offender who previously committed theft of carpentry tools in Bali.

“We have detained the perpetrator and the evidence at the North Lombok Police for further investigation and legal proceedings,” he said.
