Repairs to Bulungan Pedestrian Bridge Completed on Wednesday

The Jakarta Highways Agency has stated that repairs to the floor plates of the Bulungan pedestrian bridge (JPO) in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, were completed on Wednesday (23/9).

“The repair of the steel plates on the JPO staircase floor was scheduled to begin on Tuesday (22/9) evening and was targeted for completion on Wednesday (23/9),” said Siti Dinarwenny, Head of the Data and Information Centre of the Jakarta Provincial Highways Agency, in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Siti noted that during the repair process, the operation of the Kyai Maja pedestrian bridge was temporarily suspended to ensure public safety and security. The bridge will reopen once all work is finished and the facility is declared safe for use.

The Highways Agency expressed regret over the acts of vandalism against public facilities, noting that such actions disrupt services and harm the community. Pedestrian facilities are built and maintained to support the safety and convenience of citizen mobility.

The Highways Agency has called upon the public to work together to protect and maintain public facilities, particularly highway infrastructure, to ensure they remain safe, comfortable, and functional.

“We also express our gratitude to the community members who have played an active role in reporting issues related to highway infrastructure,” she added.

The Jakarta Provincial Highways Agency is repairing 20 steel plates on the Bulungan pedestrian bridge in Kebayoran Baru, which went missing due to suspected theft.

The South Jakarta Administrative City Government has requested that residents report any sightings of those responsible for the theft of the bridge plates in the Bulungan area.

Several residents have expressed concern regarding the condition of the pedestrian bridge plates near the Attorney General’s Office building on Jalan Kyai Maja, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, which have been missing for two months.
