Repairs on Jalan Otista Raya, Ciputat: Some Sections Smooth, Others Still Potholed
SOUTH TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com - Jalan Otista Raya, Ciputat, South Tangerang, which had previously suffered severe damage, has now been repaired, on Tuesday (24/2/2026).
Based on Kompas.com’s observation at the location, the damaged road, which previously required vehicles to proceed with caution, is now level and smooth.
Vehicles passing through now appear to be moving smoothly and at a standard speed. There is no longer a need to brake and drive slowly.
The repairs were carried out after the road section had experienced significant damage, with the asphalt surface peeling and potholes appearing in several areas.
The damage had previously been a source of complaints from drivers, who considered it dangerous, especially at night and during rain.
Some drivers even had to slow down suddenly to avoid potholes.
However, drivers no longer experience this when passing through the area.
A local resident named Rudi (49) said that the condition of the road before the repairs often caused congestion, especially during peak hours in the morning and evening.
“Before, if you passed through here, you had to drive slowly, afraid of slipping or hitting a pothole. Now it’s much better, more smooth,” said Rudi when met by Kompas.com at the location, on Thursday (26/2/2026).
“Especially when carrying passengers, you had to be extra careful. Now it’s good, no more worries,” he said.
However, the repairs were not carried out in their entirety.
Approximately 200 metres from the repair site, in front of Sari Asih Ciputat Hospital, the damaged road is still clearly visible.
The condition appears to be potholed, with a depth of more than 5 centimetres (cm).
