Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad (JMT) Regional Division, which manages the Jakarta–Tangerang tollway section, is accelerating repair work at 92 damaged points along the road to ensure safety and comfort for motorists during the 2026 Eid exodus.

“We continue to optimise repair efforts through the deployment of several maintenance teams working in phases at multiple locations. Currently, we have three reconstruction teams with 15 personnel each, one Scrapping, Filling, and Overlay (SFO) team with 10 personnel, and six patching teams with five personnel each,” said Widiyatmiko Nursejati, Senior General Manager of Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad, in his statement in Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

According to Widiyatmiko, pavement maintenance work has faced various challenges in recent times. These include persistently high rainfall in the Greater Jakarta region.

He stated that heavy rainfall can affect the load-bearing capacity of pavement layers. Meanwhile, the high volume of heavy vehicles passing through, including overloaded vehicles, places repeated stress on the road structure, further worsening damage.

“Currently, pavement repairs are being carried out in phases along the Jakarta–Tangerang Tollway, with priority treatment from kilometre 8 to kilometre 26,” he said.

Additionally, he said the company is accelerating repair work ahead of the peak exodus period to ensure the road can serve returning travellers optimally.

“Permanent repair work such as reconstruction and SFO can still be carried out until 15 March 2026, taking into account that we are entering the peak Eid exodus period for 1447 Hijri,” he said.

“Meanwhile, temporary measures such as patching can continue during the exodus and return travel periods through the pothole patrol team, which regularly sweeps the entire tollway section,” he added.

He cited that since 11 March 2026, pavement repairs have been conducted at multiple points on the Jakarta–Tangerang Tollway, including: kilometre 26+500 to kilometre 26+400 direction B lane 2, kilometre 25+600 to kilometre 25+300 direction B lane 3, kilometre 25+100 to kilometre 25+000 direction B lane 3.

Subsequently, kilometre 18+280 direction B lane 2, kilometre 11+000 to kilometre 10+900 direction B lane 2, kilometre 12+100 to kilometre 12+400 direction A lane 2, kilometre 21+610 to kilometre 21+750 direction A lane 2, kilometre 25+100 to kilometre 25+150 direction A lane 2, and kilometre 25+050 to kilometre 25+400 direction A lane 3.

Meanwhile, pavement maintenance work also continued on Thursday evening (12 March) through patching methods at 92 work points spread across both traffic directions of the Jakarta–Tangerang Tollway.

“A total of 49 work points are located on Lane A spanning kilometre 2+100 to kilometre 26+300, whilst the remaining 43 points are on Lane B spanning kilometre 1+700 to kilometre 23+150. Work is being carried out from 22:00 to 04:30 (local time) to minimise potential disruption to traffic flow,” he said.

Jasa Marga apologised for the inconvenience experienced by road users whilst passing through several locations with poor pavement conditions.

Jasa Marga also confirmed that the work process will continue in phases on the ground, prioritising points requiring repair.

“Jasa Marga ensures that pavement repair work will continue in phases whilst monitoring traffic conditions to ensure continued good service to road users,” he said.
