Rental House Fire in Koja Leaves Three Residents with Burns

The North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) reported a fire that razed a rental house on Jalan Yos Sudarso, Koja Village, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (2/9) evening. The incident resulted in three residents sustaining burns.

Gatot Sulaeman, Head of Operations for North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Gulkarmat, confirmed that the three victims consisted of two men and one woman. All victims have been evacuated to Koja Regional Hospital (RSUD Koja) for intensive medical treatment.

“The three victims are residents of the burned rental house. They are currently receiving medical care,” Gatot stated in Jakarta on Wednesday night.

According to official data, the burning object was identified as a rental property consisting of six units. To combat the blaze, Gulkarmat deployed at least 11 fire engines supported by 55 field personnel.

The extinguishing process was relatively rapid. Officers required approximately 30 minutes to bring the fire under control. The firefighting operation was declared fully concluded at 18:43 WIB.

“Alhamdulillah, the fire was successfully extinguished,” Gatot concluded. As of the time of this report, the exact cause of the fire and the total material losses are still under investigation by the authorities.
