Renowned preachers and public figures enliven Persis Ramadan Expo 2026
Thousands of Muslims and members of Persatuan Islam (Persis) visited Persis Ramadan Expo 2026, held from 6 to 8 March at TransStudio Mall in Bandung. The three-day event featured renowned preachers and public figures who delivered knowledge, moral guidance, and a spirit of goodwill and joy in Persis’s first Ramadan Expo. The attending da’i included Ustaz Sudi Muttaqien, Ustaz Adam Amiruddin, KH Harus Muslim, and KH Zae Nandang, while public figures presenting at the event included Arman Maulana, Irfan Hakim, Yukie Pas Band, and Pidi Baiq. The Expo aims to combine three elements: dakwah, an edufair, and the empowerment of the umat economy, reflecting Persis’s intention to transform dakwah beyond the pulpit through arts and culture as well as social and economic activity. ‘This expo is one part of Persis’s dakwah transformation,’ said Tatan Ahmad Santana, Chair of the Expo’s Organising Committee. Irfan Hakim, who described himself as part of the Persis family and a Bandung native, said the event made him feel like returning home, and praised its blend of UMKM expo, Islamic studies, and inspiring seminars. Pidi Baiq likewise expressed admiration for Persis’s work and rehearsed the belief that Persis always achieves extraordinary things; he did not expect such a cool event. Persis Ramadan Expo 2026, the first of its kind, was opened by Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono.
