Renewing Your Driving Licence Doesn't Require a Satpas Visit: Here Are Five Mobile Driving-Licence Units in Jakarta

Jakarta – The Traffic Directorate of Metro Jaya Police opened SIM Keliling services in five Jakarta districts on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. The service targets residents wishing to renew their driving licences. According to official X account TMC Polda Metro Jaya, the SIM Keliling units operate from 08:00 to 14:00 WIB. The SIM Keliling outlets only process renewals for valid licences for certain categories, namely SIM A and SIM C, according to TMC Polda Metro Jaya’s statement on Tuesday. Citizens wishing to renew must bring: a photocopy of a valid KTP, the old licence along with a photocopy, proof of a health check, and proof of a psychology test. Applicants are reminded not to delay renewal. The renewal fees follow Government Regulation No. 76 of 2020, namely Rp 80,000 for SIM A and Rp 75,000 for SIM C. The fee does not include additional components such as health and psychology tests, so the total renewal cost typically ranges from Rp 190,000 to Rp 220,000. Meanwhile, renewal for SIM B cannot be done via SIM Keliling due to differing document requirements.
