Renewing Your Driving Licence at the Weekend? Check This Information
Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate continues to provide mobile driving licence (SIM) services at five locations across Jakarta to assist residents in renewing their driving permits on Saturday.
Through the official X (Twitter) account of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Management Centre, the service locations are as follows:
- East Jakarta: Grand Cakung Mall
- North Jakarta: LTC Glodok
- South Jakarta: Trilogi University Campus, Kalibata
- Central Jakarta: Lapangan Banteng Post Office
- West Jakarta: South Lobby of Ciputra Mall
The mobile licence counters are open from 08:00 to 14:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
Applicants are required to bring a photocopy of a valid national identity card (KTP), a photocopy of the old driving licence along with the original, proof of a health check, and proof of a psychological test.
The service is limited to renewing still-valid Class A and Class C driving licences.
For licences that have already expired, holders must submit a new licence application at a location designated by the police.
Renewal fees, in accordance with Government Regulation (PP) No. 60 of 2016 on Non-Tax State Revenue, are set at Rp80,000 for Class A licence renewals and Rp75,000 for Class C licence renewals.
Class B licences cannot be renewed through the mobile service and must instead be processed at a Driving Licence Administration Unit (Satpas) office, owing to differences in the document’s intended purpose. Class B licences are designated for vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes.
