Rendra to stage a play at TIM

The Bengkel Teater Rendra drama group will perform a play titled SObraT at the Graha Bhakti Budaya, Taman Ismail Marzuki, in Central Jakarta from June 23 through June 26.

SObraT is written by Arthur S. Nalan, a script-writer and the rector of the Indonesian Arts Institute (STSI) in Bandung, West Java.

The script won an award for Best Drama Script from the Jakarta Arts Council (DKJ) in 2004.

The play in June will be directed by W.S. Rendra, a prominent poet and actor, while the artistic design will be made by Rendra's wife Ken Zuraida.

The play will feature among others Maryam Supraba, Olive Dewi SRustiani, Susan Handayani, Clara Sinta, Oppie Andaresta, Harris Nasution, Otig Pakis and Adi Kurdi.
