Removing rearview mirrors

Removing rearview mirrors

From Kompas

I've had the unpleasant experience of my rearview mirrors
being stolen four times. On the first three occasions, criminals
forcefully removed them from my Mercedes in broad daylight.

The fourth occasion happened on Jl. Rasuna Said, South
Jakarta, leading towards Jl. HOS Cokroaminoto, Central Jakarta
about 9:30 a.m. on April 7.

The criminals were four 15 year-olds who within seconds had
removed the rearview mirrors off my automobile.

My driver tried to chase them but to no avail. They were just
too fast.

The theft took place in front of a traffic policeman who could
only stand with his mouth hanging open, amazed by the swiftness
with which the teenage criminals committed the crime.

If the young openly steal something in public, what will
become of this nation in the future?

Our ill-fated automobile this time is a Volvo station wagon.
Hopefully, the police can find ways to stop these kinds of petty
thefts.
