Removing hurdles
Removing hurdles
From Koran Tempo
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Vice President Jusuf Kalla deserve the congratulations and support of all citizens, not only those who harbor certain interests.
I would like to suggest that the salaries of top government executives and officials of public institutions be reduced to prevent giving the impression that they seek wealth from their positions.
Meanwhile, non-governmental activists and demonstrators should give our new leaders a break so they will not change their attitudes, as some people do under pressure and prejudice.
In this way, we can clear the way for the introduction of changes for improving the country further and remove any impediments. Indonesia will not make progress if certain circles are too eager to protest and too easily provoked.
