Reminder: Jakarta's Odd-Even Scheme This Week Applies Only for 4 Days
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The odd-even (gage) traffic restriction scheme in DKI Jakarta this week will apply for only four days, namely from Monday (26/4/2026) to Thursday (30/4/2026). The odd-even traffic restriction policy in Jakarta will not apply on Friday, 1 May 2026. The suspension of this rule coincides with Labour Day or May Day, which is a national holiday. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, through the Transportation Agency, stated that this decision refers to the official government holiday calendar. This policy refers to the Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) of three ministers, namely the Minister of Religious Affairs, the Minister of Manpower, and the Minister of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform, with Number 1497 of 2025, Number 2 of 2025, and Number 5 of 2025 on National Holidays and Collective Leave for 2026. In the SKB, 1 May is designated as a national holiday in commemoration of Labour Day. Additionally, this provision is reinforced by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Regulation Number 88 of 2019. Article 3 paragraph (3) states that the odd-even system does not apply on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays designated by Presidential Decree. Meanwhile, the odd-even (gage) rule in Jakarta will continue to be enforced normally from Monday (26/4/2026) to Thursday (30/4/2026). Road users who fail to comply with the rules and are proven to violate them will be subject to ticketing sanctions with a maximum fine of Rp 500,000, in accordance with the mandate of Article 287 of the Road Traffic and Transportation Law (UU LLAJ).
