Remains of Ryamizard Ryacudu Depart from Defence Ministry to Kalibata National Heroes' Cemetery
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The remains of General (Retired) Ryamizard Ryacudu have departed from the Defence Ministry building in Central Jakarta to the National Heroes’ Cemetery (TMP) Kalibata in South Jakarta on Monday. According to on-site observations, the farewell ceremony took place after the handover of the remains from the family to the Defence Ministry. During the ceremony, Deputy Defence Minister Donny Ermawan Taufanto stated that the ministry had received the remains from the family and would proceed to bury them at the National Heroes’ Cemetery Kalibata. After the ceremony concluded, Ryamizard’s coffin was carried by six soldiers from the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad) from inside the Defence Ministry building to an ambulance. At 11:14 AM WIB, the ambulance and escort convoy departed from the Defence Ministry building for the National Heroes’ Cemetery Kalibata. The Defence Ministry held a final salute for General (Retired) Ryamizard Ryacudu as a national tribute to his service and dedication to the country. The remains of Ryamizard will be buried with military honours at the National Heroes’ Cemetery Kalibata. “The military funeral ceremony will be led by the Indonesian Defence Minister as the reviewing officer,” said Rico.
