JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The site of the dismantled monorail pillars on Jalan Rasuna Said, Kuningan, South Jakarta, has become a passage for motorcyclists.

The remains of the dismantled monorail pillars are located in the median strip separating the fast and slow lanes of Jalan Rasuna Said.

At one point, a motorcyclist was seen crossing from the fast lane to the slow lane. The motorcyclist lifted their vehicle over the remaining pillar structure, which is approximately 15 cm high.

The gaps in the median strip, which were originally closed with concrete barriers to prevent drivers from easily changing lanes, have been reopened in some areas.

Near the Transjakarta Patra Kuningan bus stop, the median strip has an opening that is being managed by an informal traffic controller, known as a “Pak Ogah,” who directs vehicles changing lanes.

The orange water barriers that originally closed the gap have been moved to the side, allowing access to the road again.

Meanwhile, near the Setiabudi bus stop, where the first monorail pillar was dismantled, the median strip has been dismantled, creating a long depression leading to the bridge towards Jalan Kuningan Madya.

The dismantling of all the monorail pillars along Jalan HR Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, has been completed.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has ensured that all 109 of the abandoned monorail pillars have been cut and tidied up, marking a new chapter in the revitalization of the Kuningan area.

“All 109 monorails were cut and tidied up by Saturday,” said the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, at City Hall, Tuesday (February 24, 2026).

The revitalization of the Kuningan area will continue with the repair of pedestrian paths, drainage systems, and parks.

The project, which was originally scheduled to be completed in September 2026, has been moved forward to June 22, 2026, coinciding with the anniversary of DKI Jakarta.
