Remains of Former Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu Arrive at Mourning Home as Mourners Gather
A sombre atmosphere envelops the residence of former Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java, this afternoon. Family members and relatives have gathered at the mourning house. According to detikcom’s on-site report on Sunday (31 May 2026), the deceased’s remains have arrived and been placed in a room. Mourners sit beside the coffin, with prayers audible in the background. The coffin is covered with white and red-and-white cloth. Some mourners embrace the family, offering mutual support. Brigadier General Rico Ricardo Sirait, Chief of Information for the Defence Ministry’s Secretariat, confirmed that Ryamizard passed away at RSPAD Jakarta at 14:30 WIB. ‘Correct, we have received word of the sad news that General TNI (Retired) Ryamizard Ryacudu has passed away today,’ said Brigadier General Rico when confirmed. Ryamizard was a senior military figure in Indonesia, having served as Indonesia’s Defence Minister and Chief of Staff of the Army.
