Remains of Fallen TNI Soldiers in Lebanon to be Repatriated on Friday or Saturday

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the Defence Information Bureau at the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defence, Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, stated that the remains of the TNI soldier who fell in Lebanon are planned to be sent back to the homeland on Friday (3/4) or Saturday (4/4). “The departure is likely to take place on Friday if not, it will be carried out on Saturday,” said Rico at the Ministry of Defence office in Jakarta on Thursday. Rico could not yet confirm the exact departure date for the remains because flight schedules from the Lebanon region are currently very limited due to the ongoing conflict. Rico continued that up to now, the remains of the TNI personnel are safe at Saida Hospital in the Lebanon region. “They are currently at Saida Hospital in Lebanon and the preparation of the remains is underway, planned to be returned to the homeland,” explained Rico. Previously, three TNI personnel on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mission were reported to have fallen while on duty in Lebanon this March 2026. Based on TNI data, those who fell are Chief Private Farizal Rhomadhon, Sergeant First Class Muhammad Nur Ichwan, and Captain (Inf) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar. Farizal died due to indirect artillery fire near Adchit Al Qusayr, southern Lebanon, on Sunday (29/3). Meanwhile, Nur Ichwan and Zulmi died due to a vehicle explosion near Bani Haiyyan on Monday (30/3).
